LBS scavenger game for Disneyland
Wishing Stars for Disneyland
The Future of Pinball, an iPhone developer, has launched a location-based iPhone game, Wishing Stars, specifically for Disneyland in California. A separate version is in development for Walt Disney World in Florida.

Wishing Stars is a location-based scavenger hunt game. Players wandering around the real-world theme park find virtual clues and solve puzzles. Some are based around queues for popular attractions, a feature that could keep the children entertained while they're waiting.

The Wishing Stars website presents an overview of the game: "The hidden 'Wishing Stars' are recorded as secret GPS coordinates that your iPhone will uncover during your search. Clues lead to more clues, which lead to discovery of the Wishing Stars. Along the way, you'll unlock more Quests that will test your knowledge of Disneyland to its limit!"

The Future of Pinball points out that the game is not an officially endorsed Disney product. Disney's lawyers haven't commented on the commercial implications yet - the developer is charging $5.99 for the game.

According to the developer, updates will introduce new features in the months ahead. The possibility of in-app payments has not been ruled out.
