Google launches location-based movie info
Google movie search
Planning a trip to the movies has become easier with the launch of a mobile version of Google Search results for movies. It runs on iPhone, Palm WebOS and Android-powered phones.

From the Google mobile site you search for "movies", then tap on the "More movies" link. From there, you can either browse a list of movies or select the "Theaters" button to browse a list of theatres near you.

The new movie listings page now includes buttons to play trailers on your phone and show ratings and categories, movie posters, upcoming show times and a list of the nearest theatres and their distances from you. For more details about a specific movie, touch the poster or movie title and navigate to the movie details page for a synopsis of the movie, a more detailed list of show times, the cast and crew, and pictures.

Browsing by theatre displays a map of the theatres nearest to you. You can tap on the link to any particular theatre to see what shows are playing there and what times they're playing. You can also search for specific movies or theatres and see their listings right away.
