DeviceAnywhere Test Centre will allow developers of location based services and location-aware applications to replicate the GPS location of a device, eliminating the need for costly field trials and significantly reducing time-to-market.
DeviceAnywhere will provide 24/7 access to more than 45 GPS-enabled handsets on launch, including the Palm Pre, BlackBerry Storm and iPhone 3GS, and will enable this feature on more handsets in the coming months.
According to its global co-marketing agreement with NAVTEQ, DeviceAnywhere will offer five free hours of access to all registered members of the NAVTEQ Network for DevelopersTM (NN4D).
DeviceAnywhere is also a global platform sponsor of the 2010 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge®, and will provide contestants with ten free hours of testing on a specific list of devices provided by the device sponsors.
Furthermore, DeviceAnywhere will contribute fifty free test hours on any package in its DeviceAnywhere Test Centre to the Grand Prize Winner and two runners-up in each region for ninety days after the competition.
Marc Naddell, NAVTEQ's vice president of partner & developer programs, commented: "Our developers are breaking new ground and we expect to see increased growth and diversification in applications this year."
DeviceAnywhere currently supports more than 2,000 devices on more than thirty different carrier networks worldwide, with locations in the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany and Spain.
Its Direct-to-DeviceTM technology provides access to real handsets in live global networks, from anywhere in the world.
