
ABI found that enterprises of all sizes want apps to mobilise their data and enhance productivity. This has led to increasing demands for presence, location and other value-added services, and developers are finding that cloud computing offers good solutions for mobile devices.
ABI researchers say the major players such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft are all focusing on enhancing existing cloud-based mobile apps and creating new ones.
Cloud computing technology has grown over the past decade in parallel with the emergence of smartphones and other mobile internet devices. Suitable cloud computing applications are complements to mobile device platforms because they outsource much of the processing work needed to run an app to a web-based service provider.
