ADCi will offer the database to its customers in local and state government, transportation, education, utilities and Internet and wireless industries. The company is already a distributor of NAVTEQ and Tele Atlas street data, selling data by county, group of counties, state, group of states or the entire country.
With the Urban Mapping data, ADCi can now offer a new layer of information for customers requiring accurate and useable neighbourhood data.
"This product is a nice compliment to the NAVTEQ and Tele Atlas street data, expanding our product portfolio and making ADCi a one-stop shop for our customer's map data needs," said Jim Reid, president of ADCi. "We believe the neighbourhood data will be of special interest to our customers with business, Internet or government applications where neighbourhood data may be more recognizable or relevant to the end user - especially in large cities."
Urban Mapping's neighbourhood boundary database is the most comprehensive product of its kind, enabling increased relevance for users and greater precision for advertisers. The boundary collection for the US now totals nearly 70,000 neighbourhoods for more than 2,500 cities and towns. In addition, Urban Mapping's set of international boundary data now includes roughly 15,000 neighbourhoods across Canada and Europe.
